OpenHearted at Cannes
The Cannes Film Festival is known for its glitz, glamour, and celebration of global cinema—but this year, OpenHearted was there with a different kind of spotlight: one that shines on inclusion and accessibility.
Our team had the incredible opportunity to attend the 2025 edition of Cannes, where we engaged with filmmakers, festival organizers, and accessibility advocates to share our vision for a more inclusive film industry—one where people who are deaf or hard of hearing are part of the cinematic experience from the very beginning.
We’re currently developing sign language interpretation services across multiple languages—including Arabic, Spanish, and Italian—available in both pre-recorded and real-time formats. Pre-recorded interpretation is ideal for entertainment content, while real-time services are designed for live events such as panels and presentations. Our goal is to help festivals and creators make their work more accessible to global audiences without compromising artistic intent.
The energy at Cannes was electric, and it was inspiring to see how many people shared our passion for inclusion. Accessibility is no longer an afterthought—it’s becoming an essential part of the global cultural conversation.
We left Cannes feeling energized, optimistic, and more committed than ever to our mission. A more open and accessible future for film is not just possible—it’s already in motion.
With heart,
The OpenHearted Team
